Authorities were looking for a suspect Thursday after a man robbed a Harker Heights gas station at gunpoint.

The robbery was reported just after 10 p.m. Wednesday at the Murphy’s USA station in the 2000 block of Heights Drive.

The attendant told officers that a black man wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black cargo shorts, and white Nike Jordan shoes with black bottoms approached the station kiosk, produced a silver revolver and demanded all the cash in the register as well as two cartons of Newport 100s cigarettes.

The robber escaped with an undisclosed amount of money and ran around a nearby building.

Moments later a white sedan was seen headed for the U.S. Highway 190/Interstate 14 turnaround.

The driver headed west on the highway.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to call the Harker Heights Police Department at (254) 953-5400.
