A Temple High School teacher who was placed on paid leave while police investigate allegations of an improper relationship with students has resigned, the district said Thursday.
“Simply put, Temple ISD has no tolerance for educator misconduct,” Superintendent Bobby Ott, said Thursday.
“Student safety is job one. I want to commend the staff for a swift and thorough investigative process.”
The district, which has completed its own investigation, will file a report with the Texas Education Agency by which it will notify the State Board of Educator Certification of the situation, spokesman Christian Hernandez said in a press release Thursday.
Temple police said in a statement Wednesday that they received a report just after 6:20 p.m. Tuesday about “an improper relationship between a Temple ISD teacher and student.”
“The case is active,” police said, “and information is limited at this time.”
