Local man dies in head-on crash with 18-wheeler
Jacob Parker, 22, of Belton, died late Sunday night when his 1989 Dodge pickup crossed the center line of FM 93 west of Belton and collided head-on with an oncoming 18-wheeler, Department of Public Safety Sgt. David Roberts said Monday.
The accident happened just after 10 p.m. Sunday about a half mile west of Belton.
Parker was eastbound when his pickup crossed into the westbound lane and struck the tractor-trailer head on.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the 18-wheeler, Jimmy Fields, 60 of Cartwright, Okla., was taken to Scott & White Medical Center with non-incapacitating injuries, Roberts said.
The crash is under investigation.
