WACO, Texas (KWTX) Police were looking for two suspects Thursday after a man was robbed late Wednesday night at gunpoint in the driveway of his home in North Waco and were trying to determine whether the holdup could be linked to a deadly shooting earlier in another neighborhood.

Officers responded to a report of gunfire at around 11:20 p.m. in the 3100 block of North 29th Street, police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said Thursday.

“The victim stated he had just arrived at his home and parked his car,” Swanton said, when two men pulled up in a white SUV.

The two men got out of the vehicle, one produced a firearm, and they demanded the man’s phone, keys and shoes, Swanton said.

The suspect with the gun fired one shot as the two ran back to their SUV.

No one was injured.

Police don’t know whether the robbery could be linked to a deadly shooting earlier Wednesday night in the 4500 block of Cedar Mountain Drive.

The 19-year-old victim was found dead in a car.
