Police have identified a woman arrested in connection with a late-morning shooting Friday at a home in a local neighborhood that left one man dead.

Cynthia Holowatsch, 50, is in the Bell County Jail for murder, Nolanville Interim Police Chief Michael Hatton said.

Her bond is set at $100,000.

The victim of the shooting was identified as Roy Linder III, 26.

Hatton said Holowatsch and Linder were roommates, along with two others at 1225 East Avenue H, where the shooting occurred.

Nolanville officers were dispatched to the home at 1225 East Avenue H at around 11 a.m. Friday in response to a request for a civil standby as Holowatsch, who was moving out, returned to the residence to collect her possessions.

They returned to the home at around 11:25 a.m. in response to the report of a shooting.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke.

An autopsy was ordered, Hatton said.

Hatton said before the shooting, witnesses had observed an argument between Linder and another person who was helping Holowatsch move.

Police did not release that person's name.

Holowatsch then pulled out a weapon and shot Linder, Hatton said.

Hatton said police believe she used a black automatic handgun, and that she shot Linder once in the upper-body.

At the time of the shooting, there were four additional people at the residence helping Holowatsch move, Hatton said.

The investigation is ongoing.
