WACO, Texas (KWTX) Waco police Thursday night found the mother of a lost 8-year-old who couldn’t tell police where he lived.

“We will continue our investigation as to why he was found on the street alone. That investigation is ongoing,” police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

Police released a photo earlier Thursday of the boy whom officers found in the South Waco area.

“He says his name is Jaython but he cannot direct us to his parents or address,” Swanton said.

"Please be sure to teach your children their address or an emergency contact number if they get lost," Swanton said.
