WACO, Texas (KWTX) Waco police were searching for a suspect Monday evening after a shooting Monday afternoon at an apartment complex sent one to a local hospital.

Emergency calls came in simultaneously just before 3:30 p.m. Monday from the Villages apartments at 1100 North 6th St., where the shooting occurred, and North 17th Street and West Waco Drive where the victim was in a private vehicle after being driven from the shooting scene.

The victim was transferred to an ambulance and then was taken to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center.

Crime scene investigators were at the apartment complex late Monday afternoon where they recovered shell casings, police said.

Officers led a handcuffed teenager and later a handcuffed woman to a Waco Police Department van, but said the arrests didn't stem from the shooting.

The two were taken into custody for criminal trespass because they had been banned from the property earlier, police said.

A suspect has been identified, but had not been arrested as of early Monday evening.

Further details weren’t immediately available.
