MEXIA, Texas (KWTX) Two different search warrants were executed simultaneously on establishments engaged in illegal gambling in the city of Mexia.
Mexia police announced in a press release that the warrants were served Friday night around 9 P.M.
The release also says the Mexia Police Department worked with the City of Groesbeck Police Department as a Joint Criminal Apprehension Team, with the assistance of the Limestone County District Attorney’s Office.
Police say one location was on East Milam Street in Mexia, and that they found 37 gambling machines.
The second location, was on State Highway 14 South, and had 17 gambling machines.
Officers made arrests at both locations, with potential charges ranging from misdemeanors to felonies.
