KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) Killeen police Officer Sarah Hydorn, 36, turned herself in to Bell County authorities Thursday, a day after she was named in a sealed indictment charging injury to a child.
She has been placed on leave without pay, police said in a press release Thursday.
“This temporary leave is not intended to reflect an opinion on the merits of the case. It is in accordance with Civil Service Law,” police Chief Charles Kimble said.
“The department will conduct a thorough investigation into this matter.”
The indictment stems from unspecified allegations that were reported to the Harker Heights Police Department, authorities said.
Hydorn’s bond was set at $25,000.
Her name did not appear on the jail’s online roster at mid-afternoon Thursday.
Hydorn is a 6-year veteran of the Killeen Police Department.
