Local solicitation operation leads to three arrests

NOLANVILLE, Texas (KWTX) Local and state officers arrested three people in a two-day solicitation sting, Nolanville police announced Tuesday.


Nolanville police and investigators from the Texas Department of Public Safety staged the sting on Aug. 23 and Aug. 24.

A 19-year-old Killeen man was charged with solicitation of prostitution and two Temple men, ages 26 and 27, were charged with online solicitation of a minor

Their names weren’t released Tuesday.

Additional arrests are possible, police said.

The operation started after police determined a runaway teenager caught breaking into a home was a human trafficking victim.

"What brought that to our attention was the possibility that there was a connection with human trafficking some of these young folks were being forced into that type of criminal activity we certainly wanted to become more aware of that and try to bring some resources to bear on those types of activities as well," Harker Heights Police Chief Daniel Porter said.
