Major explosion reported at Texas Valero plant

A major explosion was reported late Thursday afternoon at the Valero plant in Texas City, according to a tweet from City of Texas City officials

Area fire departments responded.

Residents near the plant reported that they heard windows rattle.

The city said there were no deaths or injuries and no need for residents in the area to shelter in place.
