WACO, Texas (KWTX) A man who later told Waco police he was on a bad LSD trip was arrested after trying to force his way into a woman’s car as he screamed at her to call 911.
Katie Mitchell was driving down South 12th Street toward Speight Avenue at around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday when she spotted the man walking in the middle of the road.
The man approached her car, started pounding on the window and screaming at her to call 911.
And then he opened the door.
"Looking back I thought I had automatic locks and a lot of cars do have that feature, but I found out yesterday...that mine do not have that feature,” she said.
Mitchell was able to close the door after a brief struggle and then drive off.
She called 911 to report the incident, and she wasn’t the only resident who did.
“Yesterday afternoon we started getting calls of an individual around 17th and the interstate that had knocked on several car windows was acting erratically trying to get into cars," Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.
"Officers were able to get him and take him into custody. He told the officers that he was having a bad trip on LSD," Swanton said.
"Obviously it was pretty scary to some of the citizens that he approached without caution. This is why we urge our citizens to always keep your car doors locked," he said.
