Blunt died at 4:10 p.m. on Feb. 7, a little more than three hours after the shooting was reported at around 12:50 pm. in the 4400 block of Maggie Drive.

While officers were responding, police received a report that the victim was in the emergency room of Metroplex Hospital.

Officers determined that Blunt and another man described as an acquaintance got into an argument and said it turned violent.

Police didn’t say how Blunt got to the hospital, but said he was in critical condition.

The other man involved in the argument, who asked not to be identified, told KWTX that Blunt showed up at his home and he invited him in.

They knew each other because the homeowner used to work on Blunt’s motorcycle.

"He came to my house. I was explaining to him that I didn't want him in my life or around my family," the homeowner said.

"I was asking him not to come back and don't come around me and things like that. He attacked me in my living room and started hitting me."

He says Blunt continued to hit him and he feared for family members who were on their way back to the home.

"I got a cut on my head," he said.

"I grabbed my gun and shot him."

The man said he did not want anyone to get hurt. He just wanted to have a conversation and part ways with someone from his past.

"What happened it's tragic," he said.
