Man shot, woman attacked during local home invasion

A Killeen man and his girlfriend say they were the victims of a violent home invasion early Sunday morning.
Police responded to the break-in just after 2 a.m. Sunday in the 1400 block of Cinch Street.
The man says attackers broke into the home, and entered the bedroom where they shot him in the leg.
One of the suspects then attacked his girlfriend, he said.
The suspects ransacked the home in search of money, he said.
An 18-month-old who was also in the house was not injured.
"There are a lot of kids out here on the street. A lot of kids this could have been anybody's family, anybody’s wife" family friend, Rashad Allen said.
