Police identify local man whom car struck, killed

A man who died at a local hospital after a car struck him early Friday as he attempted to cross a busy intersection in Belton was identified Friday afternoon as Kenneth Ferrell, 75, of Belton.
Ferrell was struck by a Chevrolet HHR as he attempted to cross East 13th Avenue at North Beal Street just after 7 a.m. Friday.
The driver of the eastbound car evidently didn’t see him.
Ferrell was taken to Scott & White Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.
The car’s driver wasn’t hurt.
