MARLIN, Texas (KWTX) The Marlin City Council voted to not accept police Chief Lawrence McCall's rescinded letter of resignation Friday night.

However, they did not vote on whether or not to accept his original letter of resignation.

Last Friday, McCall said he submitted a "rough draft" resignation letter in response to the city's May 12 council meeting in which he felt he was being "sabotaged" by City Manager Cedric Davis.

The next day, after receiving support from the community, McCall says he formally rescinded his resignation.

No interim chief has been appointed.

It’s unclear if McCall is still chief or not, but he says it doesn’t look good.

“I think it’s sad for the community,” said McCall.
