A missing Navarro County teenager who was the focus of an overnight search has been found and is wet and confused, but uninjured, authorities say.

Joseph Cortez, 14, who was reported missing by his mother at around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, walked up to a home in the 6100 block of South I-45 W in Angus around 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, authorities said.

Teams used thermal imaging cameras and a drone in the search for

Cortez, who was last seen south of Corsicana near FM 709 and SW 0030.

The boy’s mother said the teenager, who has a mental impairment and is on medication, has walked off before, but nothing to this extent, Navarro County Sheriff Elmer Tanner said.

"Thank you to all the law enforcement agencies, officers, NCOEM, and the numerous citizens and volunteers who assisted throughout the night with attempting to locate this young man," said Tanner.
