MORGAN'S POINT RESORT, Texas (KWTX) Firefighters in Morgan’s Point Resort were able to keep the flames from spreading after fire broke out in a room of a home at around 5 p.m. Monday in the 1600 block of Libby Lane.

“The fire was confined to the room of origin, with water and smoke damage to the main living area. A second bedroom, kitchen, and storage areas were spared much damage, thanks to closed, interior doors,” the fire department said in a press release Tuesday.

The fire displaced the resident, two dogs and a kitten, but no one was injured.
