Officers arrested a man who led them on a high-speed chase through Killeen and Harker Heights early Wednesday morning.

Police said the chase started when the driver of a blue pickup truck refused to stop in Harker Heights near Knights Way and Amy Lane.

The chase entered into Killeen, where the driver reached speeds of about 80 miles per hour.

He was the only person in the car, police said.

The chase ended near Robinett Road when the vehicle sped through a bridge guardrail, flew through the air, and landed in a grassy field.

Police said the driver got out of the car and ran for about a block before officers caught and arrested him.

No one was injured.

Police said the suspect will be charged with evading in a vehicle.
