Belton officers were faced with a motorcycle mystery after finding a motorcycle at around 7:30 a.m. Thursday lying on the side of U.S. Highway 190 with a pair of boots and a wallet next to it.

Officers searched the area at the top of Nolanville Hill, but found no trace of the rider.

They used information from the recovered wallet to track down the bike’s owner.

He told them he crashed the bike late Wednesday night and then called friends to come and get him.

He didn’t report the accident.

While the officers were searching for the rider, a two-vehicle accident occurred nearby on the highway that sent one woman to a local hospital.
