HILLSBORO, Texas (KWTX) One suspect was in custody Tuesday and warrants have been issued for two others after a dispute turned violent and a Central Texas man was hit in the head by a shotgun blast.

Tyler Edwin Hernandez was arrested at a home in Bosque County, the Hill County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release Tuesday.

He was in the Hill County Jail Tuesday charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance.

The shooting was reported at around 2:30 p.m. Saturday at a home in the 100 block of Waterview Street in Whitney.

Hill County deputies determined that three men entered the home and demanded money.

During the altercation that ensued, one of the three shot the victim in the head.

One of the three suspects was shot, as well, the sheriff’s office said.

The unidentified victim was taken to a Waco hospital and then was transferred to another facility, the sheriff’s office said.

The wounded suspect drove himself to an area medical center and later was transferred to a hospital in Fort Worth.

Both the suspect and the victim are expected to live.

Investigators later recovered the shotgun and a handgun that they think were used in the shooting at another residence on Waterview Street, the sheriff’s office said.

They arrested a man at the home “who damaged evidence they were trying to seize.”

Jason Payne is charged with tampering/fabricating physical evidence, the sheriff’s office said.
