One man dies in fiery single-vehicle crash on local highway

One man died and another person was injured Tuesday night in a fiery single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 190/Interstate 14 west of the FM 2410 overpass in Harker Heights.
The victim was identified as Arturo A. Oniel II of Killeen.
The 25-year-old passenger, whose name was not released, was taken to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple.
The accident happened just before 9 p.m. Tuesday.
The westbound 2004 GMC Envoy in which the two were riding veered off the highway and up a sloping median where it overturned, police said, coming to rest on its wheels in the driveway of a business on westbound access road.
The vehicle caught fire, but firefighters doused the flames.
Oniel was ejected and died at the scene.
