Fort Hood Tuesday identified a soldier who drowned on Easter Sunday at Lake Belton as Spc. David Folly Ananou, 30, of Baltimore, Md.

Emergency crews responded to reports of the drowning at Temple Lake Park at around 2 p.m. Sunday.

Police said four soldiers were on the lake together, and three of them made it back to shore.

"One male went down because of a wave or a strong wind," Temple police spokeswoman Shawana Neely said.

Ananou’s body was recovered late Sunday afternoon.

He joined the Army in October 2014 and had been assigned since March 2015 to the 1st Cavalry Division’s 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team
