WACO, Texas (KWTX) Traffic was moving again Friday after an early-morning crash involving an 18-wheeler on Interstate 35 in Waco that closed down the southbound lanes of the highway.
The accident happened at around 5 a.m. Friday.
Authorities say the 18-wheeler and a car were both northbound on the highway when they collided just before the South 4th and 5th Street exit near Baylor University.
The force of the collision sent the 18-wheeler over the median and into the southbound lanes.
The occupants of the car weren’t hurt.
The driver of the rig received minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
Witnesses at first thought the truck caught on fire, but police later said it didn’t.
Southbound traffic was diverted onto the feeder road around the wreck until the accident scene was cleared just after 8 a.m.
