A Killeen man is thankful after a passerby noticed his property had caught fire early Thursday morning and alerted him.

The Killeen fire department says the homeowner was inside his home on the 7200 block of Reece's Creek Road, when someone knocked on his door and said his fifth wheel trailer had caught fire.

When the fire department arrived just after midnight, the homeowners RV was engulfed in flames and the fire had began to spread to the barn.

Fire crews were able to save the barn.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
