Pile of panties pilfered from local Victoria’s Secret
Temple police are looking for a suspect after more than 200 pairs of panties worth more than $5,000 were stolen during the grand opening of a local Victoria’s Secret store.
“Five thousand dollars-worth of panties is a lot of panties,” Temple police Officer Shawana Neeley said, “but it is Victoria’s Secret, so maybe not that many.”
Police were sent just after 1 p.m. last Thursday to the Temple Mall where Victoria’s Secret was hosting a grand opening of its new Temple store, Neeley said.
The store manager called police after employees discovered dozens of pairs of “Very Sexy” panties were missing from a display table inside the store, Neeley said.
The stolen panties retailed for between $14.50 and $25 a pair, which means the thief got away with about 250 pairs.
Police believe the theft happened sometime between 10 a.m. and 12:20 p.m. last Thursday.
