Local police say fight preceded deadly shooting

Killeen police confirmed Wednesday a burglary turned deadly shooting nearly two weeks after it happened.
Police responded just after 9 p.m. December 20, 2018, to the 4500 block of Westcliff Drive in reference to a burglary in progress.
Police said two men, the homeowner and the intruder, were involved in a verbal altercation that became physical.
During the fight, the intruder was shot.
Yorrick Trent Toms, 24, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said its investigation is ongoing.
