ROBINSON, Texas (KWTX) A 48-year-old man whom Robinson officers were able to convince to surrender after he pointed a handgun at himself was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
Officers responded at around 4:30 p.m. Saturday to a home in the 100 block of West Tinsley Road after receiving a request to check on the welfare of the resident.
As officers talked to the resident, he produced a handgun and pointed it at himself, police said in a press release.
Officers withdrew, and started to negotiate with the man, police said.
After about an hour, they were able to convince him to surrender peacefully.
No one was hurt.
