Heights police respond to second deadly shooting in 24 hours

Harker Heights police have responded to the second deadly shooting in the city in 24 hours.
The shooting was reported at around 8 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of Clore Road where officers found an elderly man dead of a gunshot wound.
Police think the wound was self-inflicted.
“The deceased had considerable medical history and issues,” police said in a press release Wednesday.
The first shooting was reported at around 11:20 p.m. Monday.
The victim was found lying in a private driveway between two businesses in the 100 block of Central Texas Expressway.
“A probable identity was established on the white male; however, without any form of identification, the name is being withheld until the identity can be confirmed,” police said in a press release Tuesday.
An autopsy was ordered.
