Coryell County sheriff’s investigators served search warrants at two area homes Monday night, arrested a man and a woman and seized marijuana and cash.

Joseph Ryan Johnson, 21, and Cursti Gayle Turner-Cope, 19, were in the Coryell County Jail Tuesday.

Johnson is charged with two counts of delivery of marijuana in a drug-free zone over ¼ ounce, but less than 5 pounds.

Turner-Cope is charged with manufacture or delivery of marijuana less than 50 pounds, but more than 5 pounds.

No bonds have been set, according to online jail records.

“The operation stemmed from a lengthy undercover narcotics operation in which quantities of 'high grade' marijuana along with marijuana/THC concentrate were purchased,” the Coryell County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release Tuesday.

Warrants were served Monday night at 1620 West Main St. in Gatesville and 702 Franks Rd. west of Gatesville.

Authorities seized 9.34 pounds of suspected marijuana, which was packaged, and .875 pounds of marijuana/THC concentrate.

They also seized an unspecified amount of cash.

The investigators think the marijuana was purchased in Colorado and transported to the Gatesville area.

The investigation involved the Coryell County Sheriff’s Office and the Heart of Texas Auto Theft Task Force.
