The latest online undercover prostitution sting by investigators with the McLennan County Sheriff's Office has led to 71 arrests.

The sting was part of the National Johns Suppression Initiative.

"We're going to keep on. We will be targeting child molesters. We're gonna be targeting people that want to get hooked up and have sex with underage kids. And also the 'Johns' that are the sex buyers that are creating demand, " said Sheriff Parnell McNamara in an afternoon news conference.

"Our effort ranked us fifth in the nation in arrests, ahead of New York City and even Los Angeles," added McNamara.

According to the Sheriff, most of the arrests were men from out of town and out of state.

Among those arrested was a former police officer, the son of a federal judge, and a man who ran from police during arrest and rammed two squad cars several times in an effort to escape.
