ROBINSON, Texas (KWTX) A Waco man accused of trying to pass stolen checks at a bank in Robinson was indicted on two counts of forgery Wednesday.

Ladarwin DeJohn Tipps, 33, of Waco, was arrested on Jan. 9 after police received a report of a man attempting to pass stolen checks at the Fidelity Bank on South Robinson Drive.

Tipps was taken into custody after police determined he attempted to cash two checks, one for $1,350 and the other for $225, both of which had been flagged as stolen or fraudulent, Robinson police Chief Phillip Prasifka said at the time.

Tipps remains in the McLennan County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bond, according to online records.
