Repairs on a broken water main in Rogers were completed Thursday night.

Rogers ISD canceled classes Thursday because of the issue.

The town has been without water service since 5 p.m. Wednesday when a contractor installing a fiber line struck the main, City Administrator Chris Hill said.

While service is restored a boil order will remain in effect until routine tests are completed.

Water intended for consumption, cooking or ice making should be boiled vigorously before use until then order is lifted.

The Temple Walmart Distribution Center and the Rogers Fire Department distributed more than 300 cases of water to residents on Thursday afternoon.

Many of the residents and volunteers were thankful that the company helped the community on such short notice.

“I was just overwhelmed,” said Rogers Fire Department Volunteer Samantha Bell.

“This is a big company that doesn’t have anything to our little town. It’s not like we have a Walmart here so it was just really overwhelming that they were reaching out to us.”
