Tuesday was a big day for some Salado students who got the opportunity to talk to an astronaut aboard the International Space Station.
The students at Salado Intermediate School spoke with astronaut Scott Tingle as part of the Amateur Radio on the International Space Station Program, which promotes learning opportunities as part of the district’s STEM initiative.
Due to the short length of time the ISS will be overhead, the talk was limited to 10 minutes, but NASA officials and a former Apollo and shuttle program engineer also spoke to the students.
