School districts offering meals despite closures due to COVID 19 concerns
The Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller announced this week due to a federal waiver, funding will be available for schools to continue providing meals for students on a case by case basis, even with schools closed amid COVID19 coronavirus concerns.
Here you find a list of Central Texas schools offering meals and information on how to get them.

Belton ISD: Belton ISD School Nutrition will serve grab-and-go meals twice a day to students age 18 and under during this extended break at three campus locations. Starting March 16, breakfast will be served from 7:30-9 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. to students under the age of 18 at Miller Heights Elementary, Pirtle Elementary and Southwest Elementary. If you know of students needing meals, please encourage the family to use this resource.
Bosqueville ISD: Beginning Tuesday, March 17th, the BISD Child Nutrition Department will be providing lunch meals for students during school closure. Lunches will be available for students who are eligible under the free and reduced school lunch guidelines during this time…..these lunches will be available for curbside pickup (USDA requires children be present when picking up the lunches to prove the number on the first day you participate in the lunch program). A breakfast item will also be included with the lunch for the next day.
Procedures are as follows:
1. Complete a lunch order form (available online at the District webpage or at the campuses). Please have these completed by 9:00 am.
2. Pickup times will be from (11:30 am – 12:30 pm) at the HS cafeteria which is located next to the BISD Administration Building.
3. First day of participation requires students to be present at the time of the lunch pickup. Lunches will be for pickup only.

Bryan ISD: A no-cost “grab and go lunch” will be available for all Bryan ISD students from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 16-20 at Bryan High School, Long Intermediate, Rayburn Intermediate and Kemp-Carver Elementary School.
Copperas Cove ISD: Grab & Go meals. Breakfast goes from 7:30 a.m. - 9 a.m. and lunch is from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Hettie Halstead Elementary, Fairview/Miss Jewell Elementary, and Mae Stevens Early Learning Academy.
Gatesville ISD: GISD will still offer breakfast, lunch, and evening meals for students who are interested. Much like the summer feeding program, school nutrition personnel will be stationed at the Primary and Elementary Campus parking lots. Students in any grade may go to either of those locations at 8:00 a.m., 12:00 noon, or 4:00 p.m. to receive a grab-and-go sack meal.
Killeen ISD: Beginning Tuesday March 17th, breakfast and lunch meals will be provided at the locations listed below at no cost for all children 18 years and younger. All children will be provided free meals. However, State and Federal regulations prohibit parents from obtaining these meals. Meals will be grab-and-go style available at or near the entrance of campuses.
Breakfast service will be from 7:30 a.m. -8:30 a.m.
Lunch service will be from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

La Vega ISD: Breakfast and Lunch will be served in a Drive Through fashion at the front of every campus. All campuses are offering families a "drive-through" breakfast and lunch at the front entrance on every campus.
Breakfast served 6:30 - 8:30 AM
Lunch served 11:00 - 1:00 PM
1. Anyone under 18 may have a meal.
2. Children are in the car when picking up the meals.
Lorena ISD: Will provide curbside meal service to Lorena ISD free and reduced eligible students beginning Tuesday, March 17. Breakfast and Lunch meals will be available for pick up from our Primary School campus (1191 Old Lorena Road) between 9:00AM and 11:30AM on weekdays during the school closure period. Please fill out a form if you plan on taking advantage of this service.
Mart ISD: "Mart ISD understands that the extended closure of school may cause a hardship on some of our families. One way we would like to help is to continue to provide breakfast and lunch to our students. Beginning Monday, March 16, Mart ISD will provide breakfast from 9am-10am, and lunch from 12:30pm-1:30pm. These meals will be served out of the high school cafeteria and can be picked up to-go by any Mart ISD student free of charge. Any student that does not have transportation, but that would still like to receive a meal, should fill out the form found at the link below. We understand that everyone may not have access to technology, so please help us spread the word. Delivery can also be arranged by calling Betsy Burnett at (254) 722-3793." Midway ISD: "Our MISD Food Services Department will begin providing breakfast and lunch for curbside pick up beginning Monday, March 13. Pick up locations will serve all children, ages zero to 18, regardless of enrollment or economic status. We will have curbside pick up locations at Castleman Creek Elementary, Hewitt Elementary, and Speegleville Elementary open from 8:00-9:00 a.m. for breakfast and 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. for lunch. USDA requires children be present when picking up the food to prove the number of children you have (for at least the first day). Campuses will be the main contact for families in at-risk situations. Let us know if you are in need of food assistance; calls and messages will be routed to the appropriate personnel."
Temple ISD: "To mitigate some of these hardships, TISD will arrange for breakfast and lunch to be offered each day next week (March 16-20) to all students no matter economic status or attending campus. Our feeding program will take place at the following elementary campuses: Jefferson, Western Hills, Scott, Meridith-Dunbar and Thornton. Any student in TISD is welcome to participate at any of our campus locations. Breakfast times will run from 7:30 am - 8:30 am and lunch will run from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm.
Valley Mills ISD: Meals will be served curbside at one location, the Elementary school in the drop-off circle. One lunch meal and one breakfast meal (for the next day) will be provided for each child in the vehicle. Meals will be available from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, beginning March 17th.
Parents are requested to remain in their car as they drive through to pick up meals.
Please notify the district by responding to this post before 3pm, Monday, March 16th, if you are not able to pickup meals.
Waco ISD: Monday-Friday. Breakfast from 8:00-9:30. Lunch from 11:00-12:30. Each child must be present to receive a meal.
