18-wheeler hauling toilet paper catches fire on Texas interstate
This is no April fool’s joke. A semi tractor-trailer carrying a load of toilet paper caught fire in North Texas early Wednesday morning.
The rig crashed and burst into flames at around 4 a.m. on Interstate 20 near the Interstate 45 exchange.
Thousands of rolls of toilet paper went up in flames.
The Texas Department of Transportation said it “burned extensively.”
Police closed the westbound lanes of I-20 in southern Dallas County.
Firefighters doused the flames, but the cleanup was expected to take hours.
Investigators are still trying to find out what sparked the fire.
The truck driver wasn’t hurt and no firefighters were injured.
Police didn’t say how long the interstate will be closed.
