Teen charged after shots fired at apartment near Texas college campus

Darwiche Jirbi, 18, was arrested Tuesday after multiple shots were fired at an apartment complex near the Bryan campus of Blinn College.

He was charged with deadly conduct/discharge of a firearm and tampering/fabricating physical evidence.

According to Brazos County Jail Records, he was free on a $4,000 bond at the time of the incident after his arrest on Monday on a possession of a controlled substance charge.

The gunfire was reported at around 8 a.m. Tuesday at the College Edge apartment complex on Hollow Hill Drive.

Witnesses said the suspect stepped out of an apartment and fired repeatedly in the direction of 25th Street.

No one was injured, but one vehicle was struck, police said.
