The storms that rolled through Central Texas may have been a factor in a crash Tuesday morning that claimed a teenager's life.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said the accident happened at around 7:35 a.m. Tuesday on U.S. Highway 84 about two miles west of McGregor.
Officials said a 2016 Chevrolet Camaro was westbound when it evidently hydroplaned.
The driver lost control and the car veered into the eastbound lanes where it collided with a 2009 Ford Mustang.
DPS said Shelby Swinnea, 18, of Waco, was driving the Camaro.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Tina Zimmerman, 52, of Gatesville, was driving the Mustang.
She was taken to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center with incapacitating injuries.
