Power has been restored in Moody where a substation fire early Thursday morning knocked out service to most of the town and forced school officials to cancel classes for the day.

Extracurricular activities scheduled for Thursday evening will go on as planned, district officials said.

The Moody Fire Department responded to the fire at around 1:40 a.m. Thursday.

The outage left the Moody ISD’s administration building and high school without power so district officials chose to cancel all classes for the day.
