A Killeen neighborhood was evacuated Wednesday afternoon after a Bell County constable discovered suspected explosive devices in the 4400 block of Maggie Drive.

The constable was serving an eviction notice when a witness told him about the devices, police said.

Surrounding homes were evacuated and the Fort Hood Explosive Ordnance Disposal team responded to the scene and cleared and removed two suspicious devices without incident.

Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents took possession of the devices, police said.

The evacuated residents were allowed to return to their homes by around 7:30 p.m.
