While helping to plan the Black Texas Business Pages and the Village United supply drive in Killeen, Nicole Johnson, a teacher at Rancier Middle School was told about a single mom in need of a vehicle to get to work.

She had a Navigator SUV that she no longer drove, so she offered it to be presented to the Killeen mother Saturday afternoon.

The mom who works at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center was floored by the gesture.

"It’s overwhelming; I’m grateful!" says the mother of four Artina Nuckolls. She often has had to get her 20-year old son to drive her around.

"For me to have my own, it’s the best thing ever. I don’t have to wait on anybody!”

Johnson says she didn't know the mother personally but is familiar with her situation.

“I’m a single mother and we all work hard for our family so hopefully this helps her along the way,” says Johnson.

Several local organizations partnered to put on the supply drive and get the vehicle ready to get back on the road.
