TEAGUE, Texas (KWTX) Services for Sgt. Maj. James G. Sartor, of Teague who died in combat on July 13 in Afghanistan, have been set, according to friends and a city councilman.

Friends say services will be held in Colorado Springs, Colo.

There will be a viewing Friday July 26, a funeral will be held Saturday July 27, and a military service will be held Tuesday July 30, they say.

Times and addresses have yet to be determined.

A councilman says there will also be a memorial held in Sartor’s hometown of Teague sometime in August.

Sartor was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne), which is based at nearby Fort Carson, Colo.

More than 200 people gathered in Colorado Springs, Colo. last Wednesday to honor him.

Last Tuesday, Teague residents gathered for a candlelight vigil for the father of three who grew up in the Freestone County town and graduated in 1997 as a first-team, all-district tight-end for the Lions' football team.

Sartor joined the Army in 2001 and served for nearly 20 years earning more than two-dozen awards and decorations.

He will be presented posthumously with a Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
