Christopher Sterkes, 18, remained in the Collin County Jail Monday charged with murder in connection with a shooting that left a 15-year-old Texas boy dead.
Sterkes is held in lieu of $500,000 bond, according to online records.
Police say the shooting evidently stemmed from a drug deal gone bad.
Anna police told KXII-TV in Sherman the shooting happened at the intersection of Wylie Farm Road and Creekview Drive in Anna.
Sterkes and four others were fighting inside a car, police said.
Officers say Sterkes got out of the car and started shooting as the car drove away, KXII reported.
One of the shots hit 15-year-old Alejandro Camancho in the chest.
Camancho was dropped off in the parking lot of Medical City McKinney.
He later died from his injuries, KXII reported.
