Teenager arrested in connection with deadly Central Texas hit-and-run

TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) A teenager was held Monday in the Coryell County Jail in lieu of $200,000 bond, charged in connection with a deadly hit-and-run in March in Temple.

Nikeya Sherrod Crumb, 18, is charged with accident involving serious bodily injury and tampering with evidence, according to online jail records.

He turned himself in on May 9, the same day a warrant was issued for his arrest, Temple police said Monday.

Officers who responded to the accident at around 9:20 p.m. on March 11 found Mario Arriaga, 54, of Austin, lying in the roadway in the 1500 block of Scott Boulevard.

He was taken to Scott & White Medical Center in Temple where he later died.
