TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) The Temple Dillard’s store is making a major move and plans three days of activities to mark its reopening.

The store is moving within the Temple Mall to the space left vacant when Macy’s pulled out, which will add 20,000 square feet of space.

“We are so excited. Dillard’s has been a fixture in Temple since 1976 and it has had some remodels along the way but now getting a new location within the same mall is going to allow more space,” said Melissa Adair, Dillard’s communications and special events director.

“We're going to have an open concept with handbags and cosmetics.”

“With more space comes more clothing and there are also some new brands that were not carried at the current store there in Temple,” Adair said, “(including” Eileen Fisher, Bryn Walker, Tommy Bahama and some additional elevated lines we haven't seen before.”

In preparation for the move and a soft opening on Oct. 27, the current Dillard’s store is offering deep discounts.

The grand opening events begin on Nov. 9 and will run through Nov. 11.

During the three-day celebration, the store will award more than $5,000 in prizes daily including a $1,000 shopping spree.

The grand opening concludes on Nov. 11 with a fashion show, hosted by Miss Texas 2017 and fourth Miss America runner-up, Margana Wood.
