Texas Rangers investigate death in small Central Texas town

HEARNE, Texas (KWTX) The Texas Rangers are assisting in the investigation of a death in a small Central Texas town, about which local authorities are releasing few details.

Police and paramedics responded at around 8:30 p.m. Saturday to a report of a shooting in the 800 block of Riley Street in Hearne, KBTX-TV in Bryan reported.

Hearne police released a statement on Sunday in which they said someone inside the home died and that the Rangers and the Robertson County District Attorney’s Office were assisting in the investigation.
No other details were released.

Hearne City Manager John Naron declined to comment on a possible cause of death, whether there’s any risk to the public or on whether any arrests have been made, KBTX reported.
