GROESBECK, Texas (KWTX) An arrest has been in a shooting in which an off-duty Groesbeck reserve police officer was involved.

An arrest warrant was issued for Randall Dobson on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

On July 21 officers responded to a report of gunfire in the 500 block of Allison Avenue, police said in a press release.

Authorities determined that shots were fired during a disturbance involving a small group of people.

The shots struck one person, who was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.

“Officers also determined that one person involved in the disturbance was an off-duty reserve Groesbeck police officer,” Groesbeck police Chief Chris Henson said in the press release after the shooting.

Henson said he contacted the Texas Rangers who responded and took over the investigation.

Dobson turned himself into Limestone County officials Thursday morning.
