Counselors were available Monday at Friendswood High School after a teenager died in a weekend accident on State Highway 6.

Cole Gordon, 17, was southbound on the highway early Saturday near Navasota when he fell asleep at the wheel and lost control of his vehicle, which struck a tree, investigators told KBTX in Bryan.

He was taken to an area hospital where he died.
