KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) Thousands came out to the City of Killeen and Destiny Church's annual Easter egg hunt Saturday.
The event was held at the Softball Fields next to the Killeen Community Center.
More than 100,000 eggs were hunted by children aged up to 12 years old.
Many of the eggs were dropped down from a helicopter that was flown over the field, just moments before the egg hunt began.
"Every kid has an experience they hold on to for the rest of their life," says Worship Director MaCayla Rowe, "we want them to have something to walk away with and enjoy candy at the same time."
This was the first time the event was held at the Softball Fields.
Officials say more than 5,000 people attended the Easter Egg hunt.
