Three men break into local home, shoot resident

TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) Police Tuesday were investigating the second violent home invasion in a little more than 24 hours inTemple.

Officers responded at around 4 a.m. Tuesday to a home in the 1900 block of East Avenue G near Draughon Park, where the resident told him three men broke in and shot him.

He was taken to Scott & White Medical Center with what police said were non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers were unable to determine whether anything was taken.

They think the three suspects escaped in a dark-colored vehicle.

At around 1:15 a.m. Monday, officers responded to a similar incident at the Kensington Apartments in the 400 block of Fryers Creek Drive where they found two men with gunshot wounds, both of whom were taken to Scott & White with what police said were non-life-threatening injuries.

In that incident, the residents said four men broke into the apartment and opened fire.
